Sadly after 13 years of lighting up the sky Disney’s Wishes firework show will come to an end on May 12th. Wishes’ has been one of Magic Kingdom’s most popular attractions. For years, guests have flocked to Cinderella’s castle as well as the surrounding hotels just to get a glimpse of this eye-catching show.

Happily Ever After

Disney is planning to replace this show with a new firework show, Happily Ever After. Disney states that this show will feature the most fireworks and lasers that has ever been used in any Disney firework show.  Many have said this will be similar to the Star War’s Galactic Spectacular featured in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, but on a much broader and grander scale. This show will run for 18 minutes and feature songs from some of Disney’s most popular films including Zootopia, Moana, Big Hero 6, and The Princess and the Frog. Former Voice contestant Angie Keilhauer and recording artist Jordan Fisher will be singing the Firework show’s theme song. Showings will be start at 9:00pm.

Rivers of Light

After missing its original release date (April 2016), the Rivers of Light show debuted at Disney’s Animal Kingdom on February 17th. The show will feature live performers along with 11 difference boats – a Tiger, Owl, Turtle, Elephant, Temple Lotus, Fire lantern sailboat, Water lantern Sailboat & 4 Lotus. Each of the floats has the capability of projecting different fountain, and lighting effects that bring the show to life.  All the floats are controlled by computers.

Fast Pass+ is available for this colorful show.  Fast Pass+ seating will be in the Asia side of the river.  You can also purchase the Rivers of Light dining package featuring two restaurants (Tucker House & Tiffin’s). If you chose to partake in these two dining options you will be seated on the Dino Land side of the river. The duration of this show is 15 minutes, and  will run at 8:45 am & 10:00 pm on select nights.

Although my next trip to the parks won’t be until September, I am very excited to experience these two new attractions.
